TIPS & TRICKS

And the award goes to...

filler

The glitz, the glam, the celebrities, and more importantly the movies - we can hardly wait. With the Academy Awards® in just a few days you have little time left to prep for the friends and family who'll be gathered around your TV watching the big event. But what makes a great viewing party you ask? Unsurprisingly, just like the awards need their winning films, your party needs some show-stopping food - luckily we've got a selection that won't leave your audience divided.

Stop by Pusateri's this Saturday to pick up a freshly made bag of our in-house made Sea Salt and Black Pepper Chips, straight from our kitchen, these are the perfect start for guests to nibble on as they settle. Keep the show going and transition into small finger foods, we recommend you try our supremely seasoned Low Fat Turkey Breast and Gluten Free Margarita Arancini - these are delicious! The show will stretch for more than a few hours, so hearty snacks like Angus Beef Burger Sliders will keep your guests filled throughout the evening. For the grand finale, dessert, try the Salted Caramel Bonbons from David Chow and Konig's Fruit Cookie Stars for a sweet ending to the evening.

Of course, if you don't have the time to plan out your snack selection, pick up some of our pre-made entertaining platters; each made with a special assortment of their own. The Cheese Platter is crafted with a fine selection of cheeses and dried fruit, or try my favourite the Italian Antipasti Platter with conveniently prepared sliced meats, cheeses, and marinated vegetables. For those looking to scale up the glam for the evening, there's the Classic Shrimp Cocktail Platter with poached jumbo shrimp and zesty cocktail sauce, plus a Fruit Platter with a selection of tropical and seasonal fruit.

Finally, get glammed up. Have your guests dress in some of their best attire to transport the party to the red carpet. Speaking of a red carpet, roll out one of your own and enlist the help of your friends or kids to stand in as paparazzi while everyone walks in. If you can get your hands on replica statuettes and old film production equipment, do so. They are a great centrepiece stand-in and conversation starter. Print out posters of the nominated movies to continue the theme and help remind your guests which films they need to watch at some point.

As voting is a key part of the program, get everyone involved on your side of the TV screen. Visit the Academy Awards® website and sign up for the Oscar Challenge® where you can compete with your friends to see who has the most correct guess in real time.

Enjoy the show!
